Perry Ray Anthony was born on March 18, 1956, in the United States of America. As of 2023, he is 67 years old. Perry Ray is the son of  Mamie Van Doren and Ray Anthony. He was the only child of the couple. Mamie has been married five times and Ray Anthony was the second man she married.

Perry Ray’s father Ray Anthony was a bandleader, composer, trumpeter, and actor. He is the last surviving member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra. In 1953, Anthony and his orchestra were featured when Helen O’Connell and Bob Eberly headlined a summer replacement program for Perry Como’s CBS television show.

From 1953 to 1954, Perry’s father was the musical director of the television series TV’s Top Tunes, and he also appeared as himself in the 1955 film Daddy Long Legs.  Mamie Van Doren and Ray Anthony got married in 1955 and had their son the following year.

Perry was named after singer, actor, and television personality, Perry Como- When Perry was about 2 years old, his mother filed for a divorce citing “cruelty”, they finally divorced in 1961. Mamie Left Hollywood for Her Son

According to the LA Times, Mamie was still in the hospital when she was visited by an executive from the studio to deliver a message. “She said, ‘Mamie, we are sorry to tell you, but because you are having a child, we just don’t feel that would be good for your image. We are going to let you go.’ I was devastated,” Van Doren recalls. “It was a bad scene.” She went on to say- “The minute they dropped me I went to work with Howard Koch at Warner Bros.,”.

Mamie still lived in Hollywood with her son, Perry Ray Anthony, however, the actress decided later it was time to move for good. She cited the rampant substance abuse as one of the reasons she decided to get her son away from Sunset Boulevard. She said, “I didn’t want my son to be around all that.” Mamie and Perry moved away from Hollywood to build a quiet life.

Unlike her mother, Perry is very private about his life and has been staying away from the cameras. However, the mother and son are very close. Mamie took to Facebook to show her love for her son. She shared a picture of her sitting in a chair, with Perry Ray Anthony peaking over her head with a happy smile. She captioned the picture- “One more. Feb 6th. 2023 with Perry my son.” Perry smiled happily over her mother’s shoulder in a black cap.

Perry Ray Anthony has also been in touch with his father and the two spend quality time together bonding. On Jan. 20, 2022, Ray Anthony celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by friends and Perry Anthony, his lone descendant. Perry fondly remembered the Beatles albums his father had brought home from work during the birthday celebrations. “I wish I still had them now,” he lamented per Los Angeles Times reports.
