Mary Ryan Ravenel is the ex-wife of Thomas Ravenel. Mary Ryan Ravenel’s ex-husband Thomas is an American politician and reality television star. He is the son of former Representative Arthur Ravenel Jr. from South Carolina.

According to People Mary Ryan and Thomas Ravenel were married got married in 1995 but separated only 13 months later. The two became legally divorced three years later, in 1998. While they were married, they did not have any children together.

Mary Ryan Ravenel’s ex-husband, Thomas Ravenel is best known for his role on Bravo’s Southern Charm, is embroiled in a scandal after a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her mother, for whom he allegedly paid $200,000.

Ravenel has had several girlfriends since his divorce, particularly during his time on Southern Charm. Ravenel dated co-star Kathryn Dennis while on the show, and the two had two children together, a 5-year-old daughter Kensie and a 4-year-old son named St. Julien.

In May 2018, a second accuser—Dawn Ledwell, former nanny of Ravenel’s children—came forward (Dawn admitted in court filings Kathryn Dennis pushed Dawn to come forward) with new allegations of sexual battery against Ravenel.

“Nanny Dawn” (as she was known to Southern Charm‘s viewers), and close friend of Kathryn Dennis, claims that in January 2015, Ravenel assaulted her after a night out with his friends: “I went upstairs to get my jacket which had the key to my vehicle in the pocket. I was corralled into the master bedroom, and he shut the door behind me.

I turned around, and he had his pants dropped, not wearing underwear,” she said. “He was blocking the door. I was mortified, embarrassed, and scared.” Charleston police opened an investigation into the alleged assault after the nanny filed an incident report in early May. Dawn settled the case and completely recanted the details of that evening’s events.

Mary Ryan Ravenel’s ex-husband, Ravenel pled guilty to third-degree assault and battery in connection with an attack on Ledwell on September 11, 2019. He will pay a $500 fine but will not be imprisoned. In addition, he settled a civil suit with Ledwell, agreeing to donate $80,000 in her name to a charity for sexual assault survivors rather than pay her damages.

Kathryn Dennis and Mary Ryan Ravenel’s ex-husband, Ravenel have been dealing with a nasty custody battle after they split. Thankfully, though, the battle was recently resolved in November 2019. The two now have joint custody of their children. Kathryn Dennis tweeted, “Just want to let my fans hear from me officially that Thomas and I have resolved all matters related to our children. Mary Ryan Ravenel’s ex-husband, Thomas Ravenel also recently welcomed a child with his new girlfriend, Heather Mascoe, according to Us Weekly. On June 29, the couple welcomed a son whom they named Jonathan Jackson.

Thomas revealed to The Daily Mail, “We’ve named him Jonathan Jackson Ravenel and he was born by C-section on June 29, 7lbs 4oz and 20.25inches long. We are both very happy. Heather is a phenomenal mom and they’re both doing well.”

Shortly after their son’s birth, Heather Mascoe and Thomas briefly broke up. At the time, Ravenel told The Daily Mail that the two are just friends. “That’s how I’d put our relationship, really good friends. She’s happy and I’m happy,” Ravenel told The Daily Mail. However, it seems like the two have since gotten back together, as Ravenel plans to marry Mascoe in the near future.

Before their brief break up, according to Us Weekly, on October 13, Mary Ryan Ravenel’s ex-husband tweeted that he was getting married again. The now-deleted Tweet read, “Did anyone know I’m getting married?” Ravenel implied that he was going to marry Heather Mascoe, and even confirmed that he would not be getting a prenup, according to Us Weekly.
