Luba Farmiga gained much of her popularity from being the mother of Vera Farmiga. Luba Farmiga was a schoolteacher according to her daughter’s Wikipedia. She attended Kean University aka Newark State College, Union, NJ where she studied for her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Early Childhood Education and Teaching. According to her Linkedin profile, she was also Bank Officer at National Westminster Bank between 1993 – 1995. She also worked as Receptionist, Medical Records Manager at Whitehouse Station Family Medicine between 2001 – 2012.
Lubomyra “Luba” (née Spas) is married to Mykhailo Farmiga a systems analyst-turned-landscaper. Luba and her husband had 6 children aside from Vera- They are Taissa Farmiga, Vera Farmiga, Nadia Farmiga, Laryssa Farmiga, Alexander Farmiga, Victor Farmiga, and Stephan Farmiga.

Luba converted with her family from the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church to Pentecostalism. However Vera is now a nondenominational Christian; in a 2011 interview with Christianity Today, the actress said: “I grew up in a Ukrainian Catholic-turned-Christian household, and that is my family’s faith. My father instilled in me … to define God, to define holiness for myself. That was my parents’ number one lesson for us. I don’t belong to any particular church, but I’m someone who will be able to walk into any place of worship, any house of worship, and have a direct correspondence.”
