Lola Lovell’s mother Stacey Dash struggled with drug addiction and she has been open about it. She spoke about her personal struggles on The Dr. Oz Show. She was addicted to the pain medication Vicodin, “taking 18 to 20 pills a day” at one point. She said, “I lost everything”.

Stacey Dash revealed that she celebrated five years of sobriety. She also made it known that her recovery has given her a deeper understanding of her parents, who also struggled with drug addiction.

The greatest blessing is that not only have I been able to be honest with myself and become a better person,” she said, “I’ve been able to understand my parents and that they did love me, and that they were doing the best they could and they were just sick. They were addicted.”

In a Facebook post, Stacey Dash reflected on her decision to open up about her struggles, saying it is her “deepest, darkest secret.”

“I thank the Lord for being able to say that I have grown more over the last 5 years than I have in my entire life. I am so blessed to be surrounded by people who have loved and supported me through my most challenging time,” she wrote. “Thank you all! I encourage anyone who has a story they are scared of telling to share it with the world. You never know who will be able to relate to you and who it can help.

Meanwhile, Stacey Dash has disclosed at various times that she was molested as a child by a family friend. She has said that she was addicted to cocaine in her teens and 20s, and has a history of being with physically and emotionally abusive partners.
