He was born in Vienna, Austria to a German father who applied for him to become a citizen of Germany after his birth. Christoph became an Austrian citizen in 2010. He holds citizenship of both Austria and Germany however, he considers the debate concerning his citizenship a “legal, citizenship law banality”.
