Eight years after Lockhart and Maloney exchanged their vows, the couple called their marriage a quit. Lockhart and Moloney ended their marriage on 1st Apr 1959 and went their separate ways. The actress told the court her physician husband drank too much and rejected her pleas to seek psychiatric help. This pushed her to ask for a divorce. She was given custody of their two children.
