Jenny Bale is the mother of English actor Christian Charles Philip Bale and the ex-wife of English entrepreneur, environmentalist, and animal welfare activist David Charles Howard Bale. Christian Bale’s mother Jennifer “Jenny” Bale (James) was born in 1947, in Buckinghamshire, England, UK. She will be 76 years old after celebrating her birthday in 2023. Her exact date of birth is not known. She is the daughter of Edna James. Much is unknown about her early life and family. She was a circus performer.

Jenny Bale works as a receptionist at a doctor’s surgery. Jenny was the second wife of David Bale (2 September 1941 – 30 December 2003). David was an entrepreneur, an environmentalist, and an animal welfare activist. Before getting married to Jenny, David had divorced his first wife Sandra Kreunen.

Jenny and David gave birth to three children, Louise Bale, Christian Bale, and Sharon Bale. Unfortunately, Jenny and David’s marriage ended in divorce. They were married from 1972 to 1991. David married feminist writer, journalist, and social-political activist Gloria Steinem after he divorced Jenny. David and Gloria remained married until David died of brain lymphoma on 30 December 2003 at age 62.

Jenny’s Relationship With Her Son Christian

Jenny Bale and her son Christian Bale were not on good terms after Christian was arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister. In 2008, Christian was all over the news when he was arrested and accused of assaulting his mother and sister during an argument at a hotel.

Christian’s sister Sharon had claimed that Christian had shoved their mother during a blow-out fight. Per reports, they had an argument either about Christian’s wife, Sibi Blazic, or about money, at the Dorchester Hotel. Jenny and Sharon reported the incident to the police and Christian was arrested.

Christian was later released without a charge and his family is said to have withdrawn their statements. Since then, Christian decided not to talk to them again. Christian estranged his mother Jenny by not talking to her for years. Jenny revealed that she wanted to get in touch with her son, but she was ignored.

Jenny Bale claimed she made several attempts to re-establish contact with her son Christian who ignored her. Jenny said she even lined up with fans at one of his premieres as she hoped to see her son. She also continued to watch his movies and award show appearances on television.

Jenny said: ‘I’ll be flicking through the channels and suddenly there he is, looking at me from the TV. I think, ‘Oh, God’ and carry on watching.’ Jenny said to tried to reach Christian nearly every day. “I have tried nearly every day to get back in touch,” Jenny said in 2014.

“Six years is long enough. I want him back. It’s so sad we have not spoken in all this time. It’s sad for me. It’s sad for him too.” Jenny made it known that she had ‘no idea’ what caused the argument but admits that Christian may have misinterpreted a suggestion from his sister.

She said: ‘It was just something he didn’t take up. That was all fine. It wasn’t for Sharon, it was for the people she worked with. But I think he thought it was asking for money. That’s all I can put it down to.’ However, Jenny Bale and her son Christian Bale have been able to reconcile.
