The pupils in Haanaa K. K. D. A Basic School in Kpone are facing a lot of challenges.
The major problem faced in Haanaa K. K. D. A Basic School is deficit and inadequate infrastructure that affects teaching and learning in the school.
The inadequacy of social amenities in the school is affecting education.
Due the inadequate infrastructure, insufficient teaching and learning materials and lack of information, communication and technology, (ICT) laboratories and computers, teaching and learning is a challenge.
According to the head teacher of Haanaa K. K. D. A Basic School, Samuel Thomson,there is an uncompleted structure where the Junior High School (JHS) students learn.
He indicated that the uncompleted structure was built by the Parents And Teachers Association(PTA).
However he stated that the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Kpone katamanso Hon. Nii Laryea Affotey Agbo also contributed in the building of the school to some extent.
some teachers in the school have mentioned that toilet facility is not available in the school.
They said the toilet facility built has been locked for a couple of years now by the contractor because he claims he hasn’t been paid.
Student practice open defecation while in school which is unsafe.
The lands where the open defecation is practiced have been claimed by their rightful owners leaving students and teachers to plead with people living in the catchment area of the school to allow them use their toilet facilities.
The school is appealing to the government to support in terms of social amenities .
