Under the banner of their flagship organization, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, King depended on Hosea Williams to organize and stir masses of people into nonviolent direct action in myriad protest campaigns they waged against racial, political, economic, and social injustice.
King alternately referred to Hosea Williams, his chief field lieutenant, as his “bull in a china closet” and his “Castro.” Vowing to continue King’s work for the poor, Hosea Williams is well known in his own right as the founding president of one of the largest social services organizations in North America, Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless. His famous motto was “Unbought and Unbossed.”

Hosea Williams II was married twice. He was previously married to a woman named Diane T. Williams. He later got married to his second wife Andria (Lisa) Williams. Hosea Williams II is the father of four children; Porsha Williams, Hosea Williams III, Lauren D’Andria Williams, and Brenton Williams.
Hosea Williams’s daughter Porsha Williams is a famous American television personality, actress, and author. She is known for starring in the television series The Real Housewives of Atlanta from 2012 until 2021. Porsha Williams star in her spin-off series, Porsha’s Family Matters, currently in its first season.

Hosea Williams II’s Death
Hosea Williams died at the age of 43 years. He died September 21, 1998, in Durham, Durham County, North Carolina, USA. The cause of his death is said to be due to the complication of a bone marrow transplant which was performed 1 ½ a month ago.
Hosea Williams was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia the year prior. After his transplant, he was fine before he died. His father Hosea Williams died on November 16, 2000, at the age of 74 years old. He died at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, the U.S. He died after a three-year battle with cancer.
Hosea Williams II’s mother Juanita Terry Williams also died on August 23, 2000. She died from thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura; a form of anemia in Atlanta, Georgia.
