Guy Stockwell was born Harry Guy Stockwell on November 16, 1933, in New York City, NY, U.S. His father Harold Bayless “Harry” Stockwell was an actor and lyric baritone singer while his mother Elizabeth “Betty” (Veronica) Stockwell was a vaudeville actress. His brother Robert Dean Stockwell was born on March 5, 1936, in Los Angeles, California, U.S.
After Guy’s parents got divorced, his father married Nina Olivette. Guy’s stepmother Nina was an actress and dancer who was sometimes described as a “dancing comedienne”. Nina performed as a toe dancer in burlesque and theater in New York and throughout North America. Guy’s paternal grandparents were Cora Ellen Teter and her husband William Henry Stockwell.
Born to parents who were entertainers, Guy Stockwell and his brother Dean Stockwell got involved in the entertainment industry at a young age. Their father heard about a play that was looking for child actors and he informed their mother who took the boys to audition and both boys were successful. His brother Dean said of being a child actor: “I didn’t enjoy acting particularly, when I was young.”
“I thought it was a lot of work. There were a few films that I enjoyed, they were comedies, they were not important films, weren’t very successful, so I was always pretty much known as a serious kid. I got those kind of roles and I didn’t care for them very much.” However, it is unknown if Guy felt the same way his brother felt about acting as a child. Guy started his acting career on the stage.

Guy was in the Broadway productions Innocent Voyage alongside his brother Dean and Chicken Every Sunday. He was uncredited for his role in the films The Green Years, The Mighty McGurk, The Romance of Rosy Ridge, Ask Any Girl, The Beat Generation, and Please Don’t Eat the Daisies. He appeared in the TV series Tombstone Territory, Stagecoach West, and Gunsmoke.
Guy Stockwell landed the recurring role of Chris Parker from 1961 to 1962 in twenty-six episodes of the ABC series Adventures in Paradise. He appeared in episodes of television series including The Roaring 20s, Perry Mason, Mannix, Quincy, M.E., Simon & Simon, Knight Rider, The Fall Guy, Tales of the Gold Monkey, The Eddie Capra Mysteries, Magnum, P.I., Murder, She Wrote, Columbo, Quantum Leap, and Bonanza.
Guy Stockwell also appeared in Land of the Giants, Tombstone Territory, Combat!, The Richard Boone Show, Gunsmoke, and Wagon Train. Guy Stockwell was married and divorced three times. He was married to Suzanne Olsen from June 5, 1954 until they divorced in 1963. They had two children together. He married Sandy Donigan on November 17, 1963, and they divorced in September 1972. They had one child. He then married Olga Manriquez. He and Olga married on May 10, 1975. This marriage also ended in divorce.

How Did Dean Stockwell’s Brother Die?
Guy Stockwell suffered from diabetes in his later years. He died from complications from diabetes. He died on February 6, 2002, at age 68, in Prescott, Arizona, U.S. He was cremated and his ashes were given to family or friend. His brother Dean Stockwell died of natural causes in New Zealand, on November 7, 2021, at the age of 85.
