Colton Baird recently talked about the challenge of following in his father’s footsteps. “Hmmm… Probably, for me, my whole life I’ve had to live up to his expectations,” Falon Danika Toombs’s brother, Colton said. “Everybody always thinks it’s easier when you’re a celebrity’s son, or Roddy Piper’s son. They say it’s easier to get in the wrestling world because I’m his son. No, not true… You’re held to a higher standard. You have bigger shoes to fill.“

Falon Danika Toombs’ father, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper is one of the most famous Superstars in WWE history. The Canadian Wrestler headlined multiple PPV events, including the WWF and WCW’s respective premier annual events, WrestleMania and Starrcade.

In his prime, he accumulated 34 championships and hosted the popular WWF/WWE interview segment “Piper’s Pit”, which facilitated numerous kayfabe feuds. Ric Flair dubbed him “the most gifted entertainer in the history of professional wrestling“.

Piper’s first official match in a recognized organization was with Larry Hennig in the American Wrestling Association. During his entrance into the arena, some of his friends played bagpipes in the background, and although he didn’t have any stage name, the announcer intuitively called him out, Roddy the Piper. The name stuck, and Roddy embraced it fully.

Before Falon Danika Toombs’s father died, he revealed he had Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He was diagnosed in November 2006 and finished radiation therapy in January 2007. Falon Danika Toombs’s father died at the age of 61 on July 31, 2015, at his summer residence in Hollywood, California. His death certificate cites a cardiopulmonary arrest caused by hypertension, listing a pulmonary embolism as a contributing factor.
