Growing up with a musician father, Dae learned to play the drums at age 9 while learning music from a small recording studio in his family’s home. Though his parents called their marriage a quit when he was very young, Dae stayed his musical course: As a teenager, he joined his elder brother Danny’s band, the band Quacky Duck and His Barnyard Friends. The band was signed to Warner Bros. Records when he was 17, and he spent his 18th birthday in the studio working on the group’s album.

Dae’s website, Daebennett.com revealed, he built his first music studio, Hillside Sound, in his late 20s. For the next 20 years, Tony Bennett’s son worked there alongside plenty of industry greats, including Naughty by Nature and Salt-N-Pepa. He began working on his father’s music in the late ’90s, per PEOPLE. Dae Bennett’s studio was expanded from a small studio into a state-of-the-art Bennett Studios in 2001 but was later closed down in 2011 and He began working as a freelance producer, engineer, and mixer.
As a true music lover, Tony Bennett’s son, Dae dedicated the initial period of this time after closing the Studio to focusing on projects with his father, as his catalog of over 70 albums had to be re-mastered and preserved to the digital realm.
