Cooper Taylor is an American actor and the son of Buck Taylor. Cooper Taylor’s father is famous for playing the beloved gunsmith-turned-deputy Newly O’Brian role in CBS’s hit television series Gunsmoke. After Roger Ewing left the show, he took over for deputy marshal Clayton Thaddeus Greenwood, who was originally played by Ewing. He reprised the role in the 1987 television movie Gunsmoke: Return to Dodge, where he played the city’s marshal.

His mother Judy Nugent was a child actress. She started her career at age six when she and her elder sister Carol Nugent portrayed the same character at different ages. She went on to play a little blind girl who flew around the world with Superman, on the Adventurers of Superman.
As Nugent reached her adulthood, she had mainly guest appearances on television shows, including the ABC/Warner Brothers Television series 77 Sunset Strip and Sugarfoot, as well as Willie Carson in the Rawhide episode Incident of the Night Horse. She left Hollywood after she got married to Buck Taylor to raise her family.

The death of his brother
Cooper Taylor’s brother Adam C. Taylor passed away at the age of 27. Adam died in a motorcycle accident on June 4, 1994. He was survived by his wife Anne Lockhart, their kids Zane and Carlyle his siblings and parents. Adam was laid to rest at the Madison Valley Cemetery in Montana, USA.
