According to Biographygist, Christine sued her ex-husband and his girlfriend, Honey Ruffner, at some point, after their son- then 7 years old- told her that Gossett had given him a white powder for breakfast. Local authorities then raided the actor’s home and recovered 0.098 grams of cocaine powder, after which Satie was temporarily moved from his house.

A few months later, the charges against the actor and his girlfriend were dropped, and he recovered custody of their son. The actor and his girlfriend Ruffner entered pleas of not guilty and requested placement in drug counseling programs.

According to Wikitree, Louis Gossett Jr.’ ex-wife Christina Mangosing passed away in 2000. On Mother’s Day 2020, her son, Satie, also posted a tribute confirming his mother’s death, stating that she died twenty years ago. The cause of Christian’s death has not been revealed to the public.
Her son has also followed his father’s footsteps and joined the film industry. However, he works behind the scenes as a writer and producer. Some of his work include Jewtholic (2013), Forgiveness (2015), and 10 Minutes (2019). On February 9, 2010, Gossett announced that he had prostate cancer. He added the disease was caught in its early stages, and he expected to make a full recovery. In late December 2020, Gossett was hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19.
