
In the Central Region of Ghana,(Upper Denkyira East Municipality), the Dunkwa Nursing and Midwifery Training College held its 10th matriculation.
During the event, a total of 653 Students were matriculated.
Mr. David Benjamin Sampson,the Principal of the college,administered the Oath at the ceremony.
According to him, the 10th matriculation ceremony marks a very important day in the history of this noble institution.
He added that, the college is officially welcoming a new batch of Trainee Nurses and midwives in to undergo two or three years training programme of study.
The college admitted 107 males and 546 females.
Also, the Principal of the college used the opportunity to congratulate all first year students for becoming successful with their application after a highly competitive and rigorous selection process.
” Many were the applicants, but you have been the fortunate ones to be selected to train in the various programme in the college”, he said.
The principal advised all matriculants to abide by the college rules and regulation.
“We don’t want a situation where you will allow yourself to be corrupted by bad company and their influences that can lead you to destruction.
He encourage all matriculants to take their academic work very seriously so that investment made in them by their parents and other relations are not rendered counter productive.
He therefore urged parents,guardian and other relations to also help advise their wards to study hard and abide by the rules and regulations of the college so that their toil and investment in their wards will not be in vain.
Meanwhile the Municipal Health Director Upper Denkyira East, Mr. Daniel Acorlor advised the matriculants to be empathy, humility, patients,discipline and excel.
He therefore entreat all to be mindful of the fact that, Covid-19 is still with us and we shouldn’t take things for granted. Let continue to strictly respect and observe the safety protocols in full.
Finally, he urged all to disregard the conspiracy theories surrounding the vaccines and be ready to receive them.
