Aside from Joan, Pauline has another sister whose name is Mimi Fariña. Pauline is the eldest of the three girls. She was named after her mother’s elder sister Pauline Bridge Henderson aka Tia (Tia meaning “aunt” in Spanish, Albert’s native language).

As the siblings grew, Joan and Mimi drew closer, and their older sister Pauline turned inward. “When Mimi was very young, Pauline and I hated her,” Joan told The New York Times. “Mimi was the youngest and the prettiest, so Pauline and I conspired against her.
